What you are going through right now doesn’t define you as a refugee; Jesus’ earthly parents had
to find a place of refuge for Him as a child, away from day! Flight into Egypt. Now when they had
departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the
young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek
the young Child to destroy Him.” When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night
and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
Royal Crown Community Church is a part of the solution in the Hurting World. The world is hurtling
further and further into moral decadence, and the local church is the last line of defense. Yes, the government and some nonprofit organizations do have outreaches that cater to the needs of the less
privileged in the community, especially the refugees and the undocumented immigrants. However, the
church is still very relevant because these organizations only cater to their physical and emotional needs.
The church goes beyond the physical and emotional needs; we provide spiritual healing and moral
vitalization for hurting and lost people. And this is the solution to all of society’s ills.
Now more than ever, the Royal Crown Church ministry and psycho-social counseling teams are at the
forefront, giving people hope and alleviating their pain. This is one of the core values of the Royal Crown
Church. We are a people who love God and love people. And we express that love by being a channel for
much-needed help in our community. Our mission is to serve the church, serve our city, and serve the
world
We provide food twice a week for some of the refugees (Ukrainian and others) in Almere Poort, in the
Netherlands. We do not just give them any kind of food; we provide healthy, nutritious meals. We make
sure they eat like royalty. Besides this, Royal Crown Church has been able to provide them a safe haven
and a home away from home. Many of them have begun to make friends with the locals and no longer
feel alienated. We’re seeing people of different cultures integrating. Most of our refugee families are
very active; they love to work with us and serve one another, cook meals from different countries and
participate in other fun group activities in Royal Crown Church.
Music is a universal language that brings a community together and helps us understand
cultural differences. Gospel music has creative and healing power and enables us to temporarily
forget our pain or losses… Seeing a smile while “Singing a new song” with some children that
fled from various countries because of the war; or lost their parents and granny’s to covid19 and
divorces, a formal unmotivated and depressed teenagers with the sparkle on their eyes inspires
us and reminds us of the power of a safe and creative community.
“Sing A New Song” initiative is designed to bring families together, both teenagers, kids, and the
elderly within the community.
Russia invaded Ukraine in late February 2022, and since then, there has been an ongoing refugee crisis in
Europe. More than 6.8 million precious people were suddenly uprooted from their homes and forced to
find refuge in a strange land, with their dignity stripped from them.
About 47,000 Ukrainian nationals have presently settled in the Netherlands. These people are forced to
rebuild their lives in a new country from scratch. There is so much trauma that comes with such a
situation.
Many people have been separated from their families. Some have lost all they’ve worked for in a matter
of hours. Those who have nowhere to go have to be situated in crowded shelters. Many vulnerable old
and disabled people had to flee in their condition. Also, people receiving treatment have to leave before
they are fully treated. This is demoralizing. These refugees have lost control of their lives and experience
fear and depression. Not to mention the effect on children. Children who go through such traumatic
experiences grow up with psychological scars.
Royal Crown Church is doing its part to reach out to some of them with these programs:
It has been a great joy for us to positively impact people’s lives, and it is to the glory of God. But we believe there is more to be done and more lives to reach. So, we will not relent in the work that God has called us to do.
